Mango: Opportunities and Challenges in the 21stCentury

The Dominican Republic is a tropical country where the mango production occupies an important screed between consumer and agricultural products mainly to export. Our country is in the heart of the Caribbean, and has one of the world’s most beautiful coastlines and beaches are examples. This for years country has hosted scientific events of regional and world order, gathering scientists, professionals, farmers and students, to share their experiences.

The symposium is an activity of the Section of Tropical and Subtropical Fruit of the International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS) and that will take place in our country. The organizing committee is formed by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Dominican Republic and the institution in charge of the overall coordination and organization of the event, is the Centro para el Desarrollo Agropecuario y Forestal – CEDAF, with support from the Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Agropecuarias y Forestales (CONIAF), the Instituto Dominicano de Investigaciones Agropecuarias y Forestales (IDIAF) and Clúster del Mango Dominicano (PROMANGO).

This event aims to bring local, regional, continental global participants, all identified with the subject of mango production so they can share knowledge, technology, trade, etc., Based on a scientific program covering oral presentations, posters and field day.
