Status: Released, 2002 (Punjab). Registered 2003.

Growth habit: Semi-spreading to spreading, early maturing (120-130 days), stem-tip-hairiness profuse and pigmentation medium. Lodge tolerant.

Height and branching: Medium height (110-130 cm), nodes to first fruiting branch 5-7, monopodia 0-4, sympodia 20-25, semi-spreading.

Foliage: Foliage medium dense, light green, medium hairy and nectaried. Leaf length 14.0, width 17.0, stalk 12.4 cm.

Flower: Flowering early. Flower medium, nectaried, creamy, with intermediate calyx, pollen color cream, stamen medium dense, and semi-erect, stigma height medium (15-20 mm) with medium exsertion (3-5 mm).

Boll: Medium large sized, 4-5 locked, roundish, wide at above base, with short beak. Surface smooth, gossypol normal, opening good. Bolls/plant 30-35, boll weight 4.4 g, length 4.7, width 3.3, peduncle 2.5 cm, bracteole normal and size medium.

Yield kg/ha: Seed cotton 3000.0

Fiber: GOT 39.7%, Staple length 29.5 mm, Micronaire 4.3, Strength 95.0 tppsi, Uniformity 48.0 %.

Seed: Seed Index 8.0 g, size medium, length 8.0, width 5.0 mm, Seed fuzzy to semi-fuzzy, dusky grayish.

Leaf curl virus (CLCV): Tolerant.

Variants: Habit varies when sown early, late, spaced or terminal bud damaged.

Leading characters: CIM 473 medium early in maturity and medium tall growing variety with light green, medium hairy and broad foliage. Boll opening earlier than CIM 482, cutoff early, boll roundish, beak short, opening good. Seed fuzzy to semi fuzzy, dusky grayish.
