On the 28th of November 2012 from 12:00 to 17.30, The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, SLU, will hold a day on agro-ecosystems in Pakistan in Alnarp.
This mini-symposium highlights agricultural sciences in Pakistan, its the challenges and opportunities. It furthermore aims to identify areas of collaboration of research in Pakistan and Sweden.
The direct incentive for the initiative is the fact that the SLU and other Swedish universities have hosted a large number of PhD students over the last five years. Many of these new doctors will return back to Pakistan and setup their own research group.
The symposium gives an opportunity for these PhDs to present future directions of their research to a broad audience and to shape collaborative contacts.
The stage will be set by our keynote speaker Prof Farooq of the Faculty of Agriculture of Faisalabad University of Agriculture (http://www.uaf.edu.pk/employees/EmployeeDetail.aspx?userid=151).
Dr Farooq has a broad experience and a impressive track record on agro-ecosystem research in Pakistan and abroad. For updates please visit regularly or register (below).
Note that the day will start at 12:00 with registration and a Pakistan style lunch.
For participation in the complimentary lunch your registration is needed (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?fromEmail=true&formkey=dC1TUTdYcTY2TjRRekd4bmdLUGc4cXc6MQ).
