Secretary Food Punjab Azam Suleman has assured the growers’ organisations that they will be kept constantly on board during the forthcoming wheat procurement drive to resolve the problems faced by the farmers. He was talking to representatives of different growers’ organisations here on Tuesday. He said that wheat procurement drive will start from April 20, 2013.
He assured that gunny bags would be issued to the farmers on merit and small growers will be issued bardana on priority basis. Secretary Food informed the meeting that gunny bags issuance would start from April 20 in Bahawalpur and Rajanpur while issuance in Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad and Dera Ghazi Khan would start from April 22, 2013. Likewise gunny bags distribution would start in Rawalpindi and Sargodha from April 25 while in Layyah from April 26, 2013.
