Vegetable prices decrease

Vegetable prices have registered a fall in the past few days. So this reduction in prices has allowed some relief to the common man. The retailers attributed the drop in prices to better supply of vegetables from upcountry. Prices of almost all vegetable like gourd, peas, onion, cauliflower etc have fallen. Onions which earlier was sold in the markets at Rs 25 has fallen to the range of Rs 18 to 20. 

Similarly the prices of other vegetables like potatoes were earlier sold at Rs 30 per kg and are now being sold at Rs 20 to Rs 25 per kg depending on quality. The rate of tomato which was priced at Rs 70 to Rs 60 per kg plunged to Rs 54 to Rs 50 per kg, and bottle gourd was available at Rs 10 to Rs 12 per kg compared to the old rates of Rs 15 to Rs 16 per kg. Cabbage price dropped to Rs 45 per kg level compared to the old rates of Rs 60 to Rs 65 per kg while cauliflower dropped to Rs 30 to Rs 35 per kg compared to the previous price of Rs 40 to Rs 45 per kg.
