President Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Punjab Manzoor Wattoo has demanded fixed monthly utility bills on agriculture tube wells in Punjab, sources said. According to the sources, President PPP Punjab pointed out to the Prime Minister in his recent interaction that there are huge complaints against Discos for sending expensive fake utility bills among farmers across the Punjab.
He said a number of associations have been formed by the farmers to support the farmers in denying payment of utility bills. He said this problem may turn into a crisis sooner than later. Therefore, the PM should take notice of the situation to avoid a crisis like situation brewing up gradually with every passing day. Sources said that the PM has constituted a committee to devise a strategy and resolve the issue at the earliest.
