UAF develops new variety of oilseed: vice chancellor

The University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) has developed an elite Brassica Oilseed UAF-11 (Yellow Sarson) with more than 40 monds per acre yield potential. This was stated by UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan while briefing provincial minister for agriculture and livestock Malik Ahmad Ali Aulakh. The minister also inaugurated sowing of the oilseed at an experimental farm of the university. 

Speaking on the occasion, Aulakh said that promotion of the UAF-11 variety would open new windows of production in a very short span of time. He asked the university management to propagate the variety on massive ground and assured that the government would extend its support in this regard. 

Earlier, the UAF Vice Chancellor highlighted distinguished aspects of the newly-developed crop. Later the minister inaugurated machines application for enhancing efficiency in conducting agronomic and breed trails at PBG farm.
