Tubewell electricity bills: PML-Q seeks immediate relief for farmers

Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) President Senator Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has asked the Punjab government to discard its oppressive attitude towards farmers and provide them relief in tubewell electricity bills immediately.

Shujaat said that Rs 40 to 50 thousand monthly were being received from the farmers in Punjab on account of tubewell electricity bills whereas in Balochistan, Rs 6000 per month (fixed amount) are being received from farmers on account of tubewell electricity bills which is great injustice with the farmers of the biggest province of the country. He demanded that the government should immediately charge the same rates from the Punjab farmers. He said, if the government will not accept the demands of the farmers, we would fully support Kissan Ittehad Tanzeem in its protest on August 26.
