Transportation of wheat to Iran: MoF asked to release Rs 350 million

The Ministry of National Food Security and Research (NFS&R) has requested the Ministry of Finance to release Rs 350 million for transportation of a million tons of wheat to Iran under a barter trade deal between the two countries.

“A summary to this effect was sent to the Ministry of Finance by NFS&R a month ago, but no replay has so far been received from the Finance division,” said a senior official of NFS&R. The money is being sought to enable Pakistan Agricultural Storage and Services Corporation (Passco) to transport wheat to Iran.
