Substandard wheat: Khattak orders inquiry

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has directed inquiry into the supplying of substandard wheat grain to the people of Chitral and the alleged corruption in the Food Department. The complaint was made by a delegation of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI), which called on him here in office. The chief minister directed the chief minister inspection team to conduct an inquiry into the matter and furnish a report to him within a week. 

The delegation was led by senior leader of PTI, Rehmat Ghazi while other members of the delegation included President PTI Chitral Abdul Latif, MPA Fouzia Bibi, Haji Sultan Shah, Abdur Razzaq, Khair Muhammad Sohail, Hashim Comrade and others. The delegation apprised the chief minister of the problems faced by the general masses of Chitral and demanded immediate remedies to resolve the problems to which the chief minister issued necessary directives to quarters concerned on the spot. 

Similar action was also ordered by the chief minister on the complaint of a delegation regarding the unnecessary and prolonged delay in the completion of work on the black topping of Booni, Mastuj and Shandur road. On the demand of the delegation the chief minister issued directives to the high ups of health department for the posting of doctors against the vacant posts at District Headquarter Hospital chitral and Tehsil Headquarter Hospital Drosh. 

Pervez Khattak has said that improving the performance of government departments specially the public service providing departments up to the expectations of the public is his top priority; and necessary instructions have already been issued to the heads of these departments to formulate effective strategies to eliminate corruption and other mal-practices in their respective departments, adding that people will notice a positive change in the province within a couple of weeks. The delegation also made a complaint regarding the alleged malpractices in developmental schemes in Chitral to which the chief minister assured that such matters will be looked into through an inquiry commission.
