Federal Minister for National Regulations and Services Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan here on Friday said that government is mobilising all available resources for promoting solar energy system in the country. The technology of solar energy would pave the way for the promotion of agriculture sector and attaining the self sufficiency across the country she said.
The Minister said government was introducing solar tube-wells system for ensuring the promotion and development of agriculture sector in the country and work on this plan would soon be initiated. Addressing a distribution ceremony of tractors keys among the farmers held at Kotli Loharan she said that government is making strenuous efforts for the promotion of agriculture sector on modern production lines and agreement with China for obtaining solar technology will play instrumental role in the development of agriculture sector. The agriculture sector is the backbone of the economy and without the promotion of this sector dream of attaining prosperity is not possible she said.
Dr Firdous further said that government was fully aware of the problems and difficulties being faced by the growers and farmers, adding that government is trying its utmost to resolve their problems on top priority bases. The provision of inexpensive agri-tools, seeds, fertilisers and pesticides to the farmers are top priority of the government aimed at bringing revolutionary changes in agriculture sector to ensure food autarky in the country Dr Firdous said. Later, the federal Minister distributed ration among the deserving people of various villages of NA-111.
