Secretary Food Punjab Irfan Ali said on Friday that 652,000 flour bags of 10 kilograms each are being supplied daily to 324 Ramazan Bazaars across the province. ‘280,000 flour bags of 10 kilograms each are being supplied in 27 Ramazan Bazaars of Lahore only on daily basis,’ Irfan Ali said while meeting a delegation of the Pakistan Flour Mills Association (PFMA) Punjab.
He claimed these bags are available in abundance in these bazaars and open market rather more than the requirement of the consumers. Irfan Ali also appreciated the efforts of the PFMA for maintaining the high standard of the flour being provided in these bazaars. Secretary Food Punjab said this flour was being provided with a huge subsidy of Rs 4 billion and it was being monitored strictly on daily basis. Samples were being taken from bazaars and flour mills on daily basis for their analysis from the laboratories. He expressed his satisfaction over the samples taken till date and said it reflect the honesty of the flour millers and strict vigilance by the provincial government.
