Scientists positively contribute their role for promotion of agriculture: Chairman PARC

Chairman, Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) Dr.Iftikhar Ahmad on Saturday said that Scientists positively think and contribute their leading role for development and promotion of agriculture sector in the country.

He said that Senior scientists support the science and transfer new knowledge and innovations to their junior colleagues to boost-up agriculture production for food security in the country.

While addressing the august gathering of PARC scientists/officers and staff, Dr. Iftikhar Ahmad appreciated the contribution of retired scientists in their field that include Dr. Ikram Saeed, Dr. Abid Mahmood, Dr. Abdul Rab, Mrs.Shahida Nasreen and Dr. M. H. Bhatti, according to press release.

He said he is supporting PARC scientists to join international agri. development and donor agencies to represent Pakistan at international forums and create opportunity for other Pakistani scientists at these institutions for the benefit of Pakistan’s agriculture and its small farmers development.

He also directed the Scientists association to coordinate with retired scientists to benefit from their knowledge and experiences.

On the occasion, Dr.Nadeem Amjad, Member (NRD) PARC, Dr. Ikram Saeed, Ex-CSO (SSRI) NARC/Chief PATCO, Sardar Ghulam Mustafa, Director (PR&P), Muhammad Naeem Saleem, Ex-Director (Estt.), Dr. M Anwar, General Secretary (PARSA) and Ch. Muhammad Jahangir(EPARC) also addressed the gathering and expressed their views and highlighted various issues of the scientists and staff.

At the end Chairman PARC distributed Performance Shield to Dr. Ikram Saeed, Ex-CSO (SSRI) NARC/Chief PATCO, Muhammad Naeem Saleem, Ex-Director (Estt.), Dr. Abdul Rab, Ex-PSO, Dr. Abid Mahmood, Ex-PSO, Mrs. Shahida Talat, AD (Estt.), Dr.M. H. Bhatti, Ex-PSO (Vegetable),Iftikhar Ahmad, Ex-Technical Photographer, Muhammad Nawaz Khan, Ex-AD, Irshad Ahmad, Ex-PSA and Muhammad Hanif, Ex-Lift Operator and other retired employees of the Council.
