River Indus in low flood at Kalabagh, Chashma barrages

The mighty Indus River is in low flood at Kalabagh and Chashma barrages with a flow of 2,60,000 cusecs and 2,70,000 cusecs respectively, Flood Warning Centre said here on Sunday. It said the River Kabul is in medium flood with running water of 1,26,000 cusecs, all the other major rivers are flowing below low flood level. 

However, it warned that moderate to high flooding is likely to occur in hill torrents of D.G. Khan and Rajanpur districts and their surroundings on Sunday. 

River situation: 

The water flow in the River Indus at Tarbela is 2,78, 000 cusecs, at Kalabagh 2,61,000 cusecs, at Chashma 2,73,000 cusecs, at Taunsa 1,94,000 cusecs, at Guddu 1,21,900 cusecs, at Sukkur 78,200 cusecs and at Kotri 18,100 cusecs. 

The water flow in the river Kabul at Nowshera 1,26,000 cusecs (medium flood), in river Jhelum at Mangla 70,000 cusecs and the river Chenab at Marala 77,200 cusecs. 

Met office forecast for today: 

Fairly wide spread thunderstorm/rain with gusty winds is likely to occur over D.I.Khan, Bannu, Malakand, Hazara divisions, south Waziristan and north-east Balochistan. Scattered thunderstorm/rain with association of gusty winds may occur over D G Khan, Multan divisions, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Sindh and south-east Balochistan. Isolated thunderstorm/rain along with gusty winds would occur over Kohat, Peshawar, Mardan, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Lahore, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Islamabad divisions and north Waziristan. 

Rainfall (mm) recorded at 1700 pst during last 24 hours Jacobabad-52, Sukkur-28, Rohri-27, Bhakkar and Balakot-23(each), Bannu and Garhi Dupatta-21(each), Saidu Sharif-17, Lower Dir and Rawalakot-16(each), Multan-12, Bahawalpur A/P-11, Cherat and Muzaffarabad-10 (each), Astore and Bahawalpur city-08(each), Murree-07, Mirkhani and D.I.Khan-06(each), Bunji-05, Pattan-04, Hunza, Gilgit and Kakul-03 (each), Drosh, Khanpur, Mithi, Okara and Sahiwal-02 (each), Chilas-01, Islamabad, Jhelum, D.G.Khan, Lahore A/P and City, Skardu, Shotkot and Mohenjo-Daro-Trace (each).
