Asmat Pervaiz Malik on Saturday, was elected Chairman of Pakistan Steel Re-Rolling Mills Association while Irshad Mowjee Senior Vice Chairman, Mian Manzoor Ahmad Vice Chairman Lahore Circle and Sh. Khurram Ishtiaq Vice Chairman Karachi Circle for the year 2013-14.
The results of the newly elected office-bearers were announced at 52nd Annual General Meeting of The Pakistan Steel Re-Rolling Mills Association held here at Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Steel industry leaders Hafiz Mohammad Akbar, Mian Mohammad Ashraf and a large number of businessmen were present on the occasion. The Executive Committee members elected for the year 2013-14 are: Executive Committee (Lahore Circle) Asmat Pervaiz Malik (Chairman), Mian Manzoor Ahmad (Vice Chairman), Mian Murad Ashraf, Mian Muhammad Saeed, Haji Muhammad Azeem and Khalid Javed. Executive Committee Members for Karachi Circle are Irshad Mowjee (Senior Vice Chairman), Khurram Ishtiaq (Vice Chairman), Ali Ahmad, Khalid Khan, Hanif Jewani and Siraj Chatoor.
Earlier, Pakistan Steel Re-Rolling Mills Association newly-elected Chairman Asmat Pervaiz Malik called for downward revision of electricity, gas tariff. He also invited the attention of the government towards shortage of power and gas that was badly hampering the production of steel re-rolling mills. He said that because of energy crisis, productions nose-dived. He said that Sui gas is available for only two or three days a week.
