Punjab plans to install biogas powered tube-wells

Punjab government has planned to install 1,000 biogas powered tube-wells every year, which will save 3.2 million liter diesel per annum, said Punjab Minister for Agriculture Dr Farrukh Javed. He was chairing a cabinet committee meeting on energy on Tuesday which met to review the proposals of installing biogas powered tube wells and solar energy panel supplies to the growers in the province. 

Provincial Minister for energy Sher Ali Khan, Additional Secretary Agriculture and members of the committee were present. The meeting discussed the subsidy proposals and it was proposed that small growers should be given 75 per cent subsidy on 40 cubic meter biogas plant.
