Ombudsman Punjab Javed Mahmood has issued a show cause notice to District Co-ordination Officer Layyah for not implementing orders to pay family pension to a widow of a deceased Veterinary Assistant despite reminders. In the show cause notice, DCO Layyah has been ordered to come for personal hearing on January 20 along with parawise reasons for defiance.
Ombudsman Punjab, in his show cause notice to DCO, has clearly mentioned that “you were ordered for the payment of family pension and arrears and directed for the same on telephone also but you did not comply with which is taken as defiance of orders, why the matter be not referred to competent authority for taking disciplinary action against you for disregarding the orders of Ombudsman Punjab under Section 14(5) of Punjab Ombudsman Act”.
