Punjab sugar mills will give 10,000 tons of sugar to Punjab government at Rs 48 per kg which the government will sell at Rs 51 per kg to help poor strata of the society during the holy month of Ramazan. It was decided in a meeting of a delegation of Pakistan Sugar Mills Association Punjab Zone and the Punjab government. PSMA Punjab Zone delegation was led by Riaz Qadeer Butt Chairman PSMA Punjab.
Chairman PSMA Punjab Riaz Qadeer said current ex-mill price of sugar is below the cost of production but keeping in view the sanctity of the holy month of Ramazan, Punjab sugar mills have decided to provide 10,000 tons of sugar to Punjab Government to help poor people of the society. He said government will lift sugar from mills and will arrange to sell at their sale points in ‘Sasta bazaars’.
