PSM approves CBA demands

Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) management has approved the CBA Charter of Demand for the enhancement of salaries and other benefits to the workers. Charter of demand was submitted by Pakistan Steel Peoples Workers Union-CBA in 2010. According to PSM spokesman, the Chief Executive Officer, Pakistan Steel Major General Mohammad Javed (Retd), after his joining geared the suspended dialogs on this charter of demand with Chairman PSPWU-CBA, Shamshad Qureshi. 

After long meeting sessions by the committees formed by PSPWU-CBA and PS management the demand was approved with a break time of 2 years. The financial impact required for this demand was provided specially on the instructions of President Asif Ali Zardari and Rs 3 billion were announced by the Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf on his visit to Pakistan Steel on 10th August 2012, out of which Rs 2 billions were delivered to Pakistan Steel. 

The committee formed by the Pakistan Steel management committee for COD includes Engr. Wasif Mehmood as Conveynor and Engr Absar Nabi as Deputy Conveynor with other members while Syed Hameedullah as Conveynor, Mirza Tariq Javed as Deputy conveynor represented CBA committee along with other members. 

He said Officers and workers both are apart of PS, therefore a plan for the enhancement of Officers Salaries was also prepared and included in the agenda of PS Board of Directors Meeting to be held on 15th of this month. After the BOD approval for the workers charter of demand and enhancement of officers salaries, it will be implemented. 

He condemned all negative and false propagandas to disturb the peaceful environment of PS and said that PS management and Pakistan Steel Peoples workers union CBA with their mutual co operation kept a peaceful industrial environment, in order to run the production wheel smoothly. So all the workers and officers must unite and struggle for the betterment, revival and expansion of Pakistan Steel.-PR
