Punjab Irrigation Minister Yawar Zaman said ongoing irrigation projects with the co-operation of Jica will help improve the irrigation system in Punjab; the Punjab government is making every effort for ensuring supply of water to the farmers in abundance in the province.
He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of Japanese experts, who are in Punjab for final evaluation of activities under Strengthening Irrigation System SIAP, disclosed an official here on Friday. The members of the delegation also visited the head office of Punjab Irrigation and Drainage Authority (Pida) where they were given briefing regarding performance and functioning of farmers’ organisation working under Pida. On the occasion, the head of Japanese delegation briefed the Pida officers regarding the procedure evolved for giving final shape to the evaluation of SIAP.
