PPCBL to provide farm loans worth Rs 2.3 billion

Punjab Provincial Co-operative Bank Ltd (PPCBL) will provide agricultural loans worth Rs 2.3 billion for sowing Rabi crops (2012-13), including wheat, barley, grams, oil seeds, vegetables, sunflower and fodder till January 31 next year. Registrar of Punjab Co-operatives Dr Arshad Mahmood said that PPCBL would provide these loans to farmers via co-operative societies, enabling them to buy certified seeds, fertilisers, pesticides and agriculture implements for sowing, growing and harvesting Rabi crops.
