PPCBL extends Rs 2 billion loans for Rabi crops

Punjab Provincial Co-operative Bank Limited (PPCBL) issued Rs 2 billion agriculture loans for Rabi crops 2012-13 to 81,637 applicants through 11,177 co-operative societies till 27th February 2013, PPCBL Registrar Dr Arshad Mahmood said here on Friday. 

He said the co-operative bank will extend another Rs 300 million loans to the small farmers till 15th March so that they could meet their needs for maturing the Rabi crops including wheat, grams, lentils, oil-seeds, sunflower, vegetables and fodder, etc. He said the recovery of agricultural loans extended for Kharif crops 2012 has been satisfactory as the bank has recovered Rs 2.61 billion till 27th February which is 97.77 percent of the total loans.
