Power, POL, gas prices: KBP terms increase a drone attack

Kisan Board Pakistan (KBP) President Sardar Zafar Ullah Khan strongly reacting to recent hike in the prices of electricity, diesel and natural gas has said that this increase is like a drone attack on the people. In a statement issued on Monday he said thousands of tube wells were already closed down due to high rates of diesel and electricity, fertiliser industry was also facing numerous hardships due to shortage of gas and its high rates while people were disturbed due to loadshedding and over billing.

He said new upward jump in prices of these utilities would make life impossible for the common man and the growers. He stated that already agricultural economy had reached to the brink of destruction due to withdrawal of subsidy and imposition of general sales tax.

KBP Chief urged the government to take back the fresh hike in the prices of utilities, restore subsidy on agriculture and withdraw increase in general sales tax to save the rural economy. He appealed to the nation to come on roads for their own rights. ‘Otherwise lion remained hungry for last 13 years and may eat everything,’ Zafar warned.
