PHDEC participates in Fruit Logistica 2013

Pakistan Horticulture Development and Export Company (PHDEC), Ministry of Commerce Government of Pakistan has participated in Fruit Logistica 2013. The purpose to participate was to open new vistas for Pakistani fruits and vegetables in European market and to promote Pakistani exporters in international market. 

According to a press release issued by the authority on Monday, Fruit logistica is the leading international meeting place of the fresh produce trade. From 6th to 8th February, more than 2,400 companies from across the entire fresh produce value chain will be present in a single location – including global players as well as small and medium-sized suppliers from all around the world. 

Over 50 Pakistani exporters, growers; businessmen attended the event, which will likely to provide them exposure to thousands of exporters and importers of fruits and vegetables from such large number of countries under one roof. Very good flow of visitors interested in products from Pakistan especially potatoes, kinnows, mangoes, dates and nuts. Inquiries from Russia, Ukraine, Canada, France and the UK etc. 

On the occasion, CEO PHDEC Bashir Hussain said that participation in fruit logistica 2013 will bring valuable results in coming future. He said that it was a wonderful opportunity for Pakistani exporters to penetrate in EU market by exhibiting their fruits and vegetables. He further added that Pakistan has great potential in horticulture sector. The need of time is to build concrete strategies and to make tangible efforts to increase exports of fruits and vegetables.-PR
