General Manager Punjab Irrigation and Drainage Authority (PIDA), Afzal Anjum Toor has said that institutional reforms process will be expedited for the effective participation of farmers in canal management so that water requirements of farmers’ community could be fulfilled.
While reviewing performance of the department General Manager PIDA informed that after the election of 38 farmer organisations, canal management has been handed over to them. He also directed to complete election of other organisations as per schedule.
He said that notification regarding appointment of Chairman and Vice Chairman in Derajaat Canal Area Water Board has been issued.
