Palm oil import slides by 10 percent

The country’s import of palm oil slid by 10 percent to $781.468 million during July-November 2013-14, according to the official statistics released here on Saturday. Palm oil import posted a fall of $82.835 million in July-November period of the current fiscal year from the oil import of $864.303 million in the same period last fiscal year, say Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS). 

In term of volume: palm oil import however increased to 964,239 metric tons in July-November 2013-14 as compared to the oil import of 844,194 metric tons in the same period last fiscal year, depicting a rise of 120,045 metric tons or 14.22 percent, the PBS says.
