Pakistan develops various tech for agri improvement

Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) said various irrigation and watershed management technologies have been developed and being tested to meet future challenges. Dr Iftikhar Ahmad Chairman PARC in a meeting said PARC, ICARDA and USDA jointly held a meeting on ‘Rehabilitation and Irrigation Improvement in Pakistan’ in Karachi for initiating the collaboration with Sindh Agriculture Department. Dr Otto Gonzalez from the USDA, Dr A Majid Country Representative ICARDA, agriculture experts and stakeholders across Sindh and private emprises participated in the meeting and exchanged their knowledge and experiences. During a day long deliberations it was decided to streamline the project objectives and deliberate on as to how the newly developed technologies introduced by researchers could be useful for the general farmers. staff report
