Mumtaz Ahmad appointed CEO of PAMCO

The Punjab government has appointed a progressive farmer Mumtaz Ahmad Khan Manais, as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Punjab Agriculture and Meat Company (PAMCO), who formally assumed charge of his office on Wednesday. Mumtaz Khan Manais has introduced latest technologies in Pakistan agri sector. He has been on Agribusiness Support Fund (ASF)’s Board of Directors from its very first day. 

Manais was bestowed country’s highest civil award “Tamgha-e-Imtiaz” by President of Pakistan in 2007 in recognition of his contributions towards national agriculture. The FAO’s gold medals to his credit for edible oil crop production (sunflower) in 1995 and for livestock production in 2005 are vivid confirmations of international recognition of his efforts. 

Manais said after assuming the charge that being agri based economy; Pakistan has abundant opportunities to lead the international Halal market. According to the vision of CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, PAMCO will take revolutionary steps to provide healthy and hygienic meat to locals and export markets. New trends in horticulture sectors will be introduced to enhance per acre yield, which is the major problem in Pakistan, he added.
