Punjab Minister for Food and Chairman Price Control Committee, Bilal Yaseen has said that due to effective steps of the government and strict implementation of price control mechanism for controlling price hike in the province, relief has been provided to the people by clear reduction in the prices of vegetables, fruits and other edible items. He expressed these views while addressing the meeting to review the measures taken for price control at DCO office Gujrat.
Secretary Industry Irfan Ali, Additional IG Police Rai Muhammad Altaf, DCO Asif Bilal Lodhi, Members Assembly Mian Tariq Mehmood, Haji Imran Zafar, Major Moeen Nawaz (Retd), Mian Muhammad Tariq, Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf Devna and public representatives were also present on the occasion.
On the occasion of his visit to Muslim Bazar and Model Bazar, Bilal Yaseen enquired from the male and female consumers about the prices of the commodities and the steps taken by the government and the administration to control them. He said that for the first time, the government has introduced a formal price control mechanism for controlling the prices of the necessary items, vegetables and fruits which has been implemented strictly. He appreciated the efforts of DCO Asif Bilal Lodhi and his team for successfully implementing price control mechanism in district Gujrat.
Earlier, while giving briefing to the Minister, DCO Asif Bilal Lodhi said that on the instructions of government, district administration is taking effective steps for controlling the prices of edible items, fruits and vegetables. He informed that process of auctioning in all vegetables and fruits markets in the district is being monitored and price cards of every vegetable and fruit are issued besides rates list of other items are also being issued and the implementation on the prices is being ensured.
