Mangla dam: irsa increases water outflow

The Indus River System Authority (Irsa) has increased water outflow of Mangla dam from 10,000 to 22,000 cusecs to augment hydel power generation and reopen the closed irrigation canals in the Indus zone, Wapda engineers told Business Recorder. They said the water regulatory body is currently releasing 32,000 cusecs water downstream the Tarbela dam, 11,100 cusecs run of the Kabul river, 22,000 cusecs from Mangla dam and 6100 cusecs of the Chenab river. 

They said in River Indus, 45,300 cusecs water is inflowing at Chashma, 36.800 cusecs at Taunsa, 47,500 cusecs at Guddu barrage, 38,300 cusecs, at Sukkur and 13,200 cusecs at Kotri barrage which is being put into the irrigation canals of the four provinces.
