Kharif crops 2013: PPCBL to provide Rs 2.5 billion loans to farmers

The Punjab Provincial Co-operative Bank Ltd (PPCBL) has allocated Rs 2.5 billion for advancing loans to small farmers for sowing, growing and maturing the Kharif crop 2013. The bank has started disbursement of loans with immediate effect. This was stated by Punjab Secretary Co-operative, Dr Amir Ahmad who gave approval to the new loan disbursement policy for Kharif crops here on Tuesday. 

He said the PPBCL would continue issuing loans till 30th June through co-operative societies to enable the small farmers to sow, grow and mature Kharif cash crops including cotton, rice, vegetables, fodder etc. These eight monthly loans are repayable by 31st December 2013.
