Insecticides import up 66 percent in September

The country”s import of insecticides surged over 66 percent in September this year to $5.254 million, according to official figures. Import of insecticides went up from $3.162 million in September last fiscal year, showing a rise of $2.092 during September this fiscal year, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) said. Similarly, insecticides import grew 34 percent ($5.765 million) during July-September of the current fiscal year to $22.795 million from $17.030 million in the same period last fiscal year, the PBS said. 

In terms of volume, insecticides import moved up by 28 percent (245 tons) to 1,126 tons in September this fiscal year as compared to the commodity”s import of 881 tons in September last fiscal year, the PBS added. Insecticides import increased to 5,160 tons during July-September of the current fiscal year from 4,123 tons in the same period last fiscal year, depicting a growth of over 25 percent (1,037 tons), the PBS said.
