Increase in diesel, electricity prices criticised

Kisan Board Pakistan (KBP) President Sardar Zafar Hussein and General Secretary Malik Muhammad Ramzan Rohari has termed the fresh raise in the prices of petroleum products and gas as exploitation of the growers. In a joint statement issued here on Friday they claimed that increase in diesel and electricity prices would result in closure of thousands of tube wells and agricultural machinery.

They alleged that the present government had failed to provide any relief to the masses especially farmers’ community since its coming in to power. They said that prices of electricity, gas, petroleum and eatables were constantly on the rise instead of ensuring decrease. On the other hand, government was spending lavishly on expenses of the rulers, they added. Concluding their statement they said that farmers’ community was very disappointed due to the policies of the present government and steps like increasing petroleum prices were forcing them to come on roads to protect their rights.
