Import of agriculture machinery declined by 22 percent in 2011-12

About 22 percent decline was witnessed in import of agriculture machinery during the last fiscal year 2011-12, official figures said. Pakistan imported $98.428 million of agriculture machinery to help farmers better cultivation during the fiscal year 2012-13 as compared to the machinery import of $125.632 million during fiscal year 2011-12, statistics suggested a fall of 22 percent or $27.204 million. 

Agriculture machinery import fell some 65 percent or $9.646 million to $5.265 million in June 2013 against the machinery import of $14.911 million during June 2012, said the official figures.
