High flood at Guddu: FFD issues red alert

The Flood Forecasting Division(FFD) issued a red alert on Sunday that River Indus at Guddu will be again in high flood as 3,20,000 cusecs water of river Chenab would enter the barrage during Monday to Tuesday (26th to 27th). It said the mighty Indus is already in medium flood with the inflow of 3,74,000 cusecs, therefore the fresh wave of 3,20,000 cusecs of river Chenab water would further worsen the flood situation in upper Sindh. 

Rivers position: 

River Chenab at Punjnad (flow 3, 20,000 cusecs) and River Ravi at Sidhnai (flow 77,000 cusecs) are in high flood level. 

River Indus at Sukkur (flow 4, 40,000 cusecs) is in medium flood level. 

River Indus at Chashma, Guddu and Kotri and River Sutlej at Sulemanki and Islam are in low flood level. 

Weather forecast for today: 

Scattered thundershower is expected over Fata, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, Rawalpindi Divisions, Islamabad and Kashmir. Isolated thundershower is likely to occur over Kalat, Sahiwal, Lahore, Gujranwala, DG Khan Divisions and Southern Sindh 

Scattered thundershower is expected over Mehmand, Bajour and Khyber Agencies, Peshawar, Kohat and Rawalpindi Divisions including Islamabad and Kashmir. Isolated thundershower is expected over Lahore, Gujranwala and DG Khan Divisions and Southeast Sindh. 

Weather next 48 hrs: 

Mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, rain-thundershower is expected at scattered places of Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi/ Islamabad divisions and Kashmir, while at isolated places of Hazara, Faisalabad and Sargodha divisions. 

Weather past 24 hrs: 

Weather remained hot and humid in most parts of the country; however rain-thundershower occurred at isolated places of Rawalpindi, Hazara divisions.
