Green Tractor Scheme: balloting held for provision of subsidy to successful applicants

Under the Green Tractor Scheme of the Punjab government, computerised balloting of the applications held here at Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Auditorium under the arrangement of District Agriculture Department for the provision of subsidy of Rs 0.2 million each to the successful applicants. 

MPAs Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan, Kh. Muhammad Islam, Joel Aamir Sahutra, Rai Ejaz Hussain Kharal, EDO Agriculture Ishtiaq Hassan, EDO Coordination Muhammad Akrim Bhatti, other officers, representatives of farmers and applicants were present on the occasion. 

EDO Agriculture Chaudhry Abdul Hameed informed that the Punjab government had allocated quota of 611 tractors for district Faisalabad and total number of applications 8699 were received from the rural youths and 6417 applications were made clear after scrutiny and disposal of appeals. He also gave the tehsil wise quota of the green tractors and said that 121 tractors had been allocated for the tehsil Faisalabad while 198 for tehsil Sadar, 70 for tehsil Tandilianwala, 63 for tehsil Samundri, 128 for tehsil Jaranwala and 31 for tehsil Chah Jhumra had been allotted for provision of subsidy. 

The MPAs and representatives of the farmers started balloting process by pushing the button of computer. Earlier, MPA Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan, in his speech, said that CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif had focused his attention on the strengthening of agriculture sector for which various farmer-friendly policies had been introduced for the development of the agriculture sector. 

He said that green tractor scheme was also valuable part of agriculture policies of the Punjab govt. and subsidy of billion of rupees were being provided for the distribution of green tractors among the rural youth to promote the machine cultivation. 

He greeted the successful applicants and advised them to take maximum benefits of this scheme. MPA Joel Aamir Sahutra lauded the vision of Shahbaz Sharif and said that public service policies of present Punjab government had been praised by the foreign countries which will also be followed for the other provinces. 

He claimed that the subsidy for the green tractors was being provided to the successful applicants through transparent process under merit policy. He congratulated the successful applicants and urged upon the participants to support the Pakistan Muslim League (N) for steering the country out of the present crisis. EDO Agriculture informed the participants that the list of successful applicants would be displayed out of the offices of the concerned assistant commissioners.
