The district administration has received applications from 4,860 farmers seeking tractors under the “Green Tractor” scheme which has shown growing popularity in the Punjab. Official sources in Agriculture department told Business Recorder here Thursday that under the scheme as many as 309 subsidised tractors would be given to small farmers in Sialkot, Daska, Pasrur and Sambrial tehsils of Sialkot district.
Tehsil-wise break up of applications data for obtaining tractor is 250 Sialkot, Daska 1,358, Pasrur 2,110 and Sambrial 542, sources disclosed. The allotment of tractors will be made at district headquarter through a tehsil wise computerised draw for ensuring the transparency and draw will be held on October 1 at district headquarter.
