Gold prices surged on Thursday by Rs 1,350 per tola to Rs 58,500 on the local market after the prices of the yellow metal jumped to $1,662 an ounce, traders said. The prices of gold per 10 grams also grew to Rs 50,142 from Rs 48,985 with an increase of Rs 1,157 in a single day trading. On the international market, the precious metal price posted an increase of $46 per ounce, traders said.
Silver is being sold for Rs 1,000 per tola and Rs 857 per 10 grams on the local market, they further said.
