Flood-hit villages: free seed, fertilisers to be provided to farmers, says minister

Punjab Minister for Agriculture Malik Ahmad Ali said that seed and fertilisers for coming crops will be provided free of cost to the farmers of flood-hit villages. Speaking at a meeting of the officers he directed that crop-loss assessment surveys should be completed at the earliest and warned that no negligence or leniency will be tolerated in this regard. 

He said that the Punjab government will also verify the crop-loss assessment reports through intelligence. He also directed the government officials to take measures for stopping destruction by flood in future. He said that as per policy of the Punjab government farmers of flood-hit areas will be provided with free of cost seed and fertilisers for the next crops. He was informed that the Punjab Health Department provided treatment facility to 55,925 people in Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur districts through 34 flood relief camps, 19 mobile ambulances and three mobile health units.
