Punjab Livestock Department under Shadbad Cholistan Project has set up five model farms including Mattanwali, Chapo, Jampur, Mauj Garh and Noorsir Blochan under a four years plan. Each farm comprised of 500 acre of area and cattle of 25 community members have been registered at every farm.
In order to review the performance of the project, Secretary Livestock Punjab Muhammad Irfan Elahi, Deputy Secretary (Planning) Khalid Mahmood Chaudhary, Director General (Extention) Dr Muhammad Nawaz Saeed and Senior Member Planning & Development Department Baqar Mufti visited Mattanwali and Mauj Garh Farms.
Director Revenue & Colonies Cholistan Development Authority Aftab Ahmed Pirzada, Deputy Director Cholistan Development Authority Dr Muhammad Sohail and Veterinary Officer Dr Iqbal Ahmed gave detailed briefing to the Secretary Livestock and other members about both the farms.
During visit of Mattanwali Farm, Secretary Livestock expressed serious anguish over the incomplete water connections for animals and open electric wires, broken pipes for separation of sheds and improper arrangements for store of urea and directed to resolve these issues immediately.
Clarifying the situation, Deputy Director Cholistan Development Authority Dr Muhammad Sohail informed that the contractor left the work incomplete due to non-payment of funds.
