Federal Secretary reviews PARC performance

Federal Secretary, Ministry of National Food Security and Research (MNFSR) Tamoor Azmat while presiding over a high level meeting at Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) Headquarters has said that PARC has to play an effective role for the promotion and development of agriculture sector in the country. 

He said that PARC has chalk out programmes for human resource development and youth training in various disciplines of agriculture to meet future challenges and to achieve self-sufficiency in agro-livestock production for food security in the country. He appreciated over all performance of the council in this important sector. Dr Iftikhar Ahmad, Chairman PARC gave a presentation to Federal Secretary. He presented an over view of PARC performance, its functions and research activities include PARC development and non-development budget for FY 2012-13. 

The Technical Members of PARC Dr Rafiq-ul-Hassan Usman, Member (Animal Sciences), Dr Nadeem Amjad, Member (Natural Resources), Dr Shahid Masood, Member (Plant Sciences), Muhammad Sharif, Member (Social Sciences), Muhammad Riaz Khan, Member (Co-ordination), Dr Muhammad Azeem, Director General (NARC) and other senior officers of PARC also brief the Federal Secretary (MNFSR) about the activities and achievements in the various disciplines of agriculture.-PR
