Fata bee keepers demand setting up of training school

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Engineer Shaukatullah, while appreciating a demand for establishment of a bee keeping training school and a quality control laboratory to authenticate quality of bee products, assured the bee keepers and Traders Association to take every possible step to help them in getting their grievances resolved. 

Talking to a big delegation of bee keepers and exporters, who called on him under the leadership of Sheikh Gul Badshah and Faisal Elahi at Governor’s House here on Tuesday, the Governor said more than 40 schemes to encourage bee keeping and bee production were under implementation at a cost of Rs 55 million in Fata. Almost 2,500 workers, he added, had already been got trained and provided bee keeping boxes and kits to run their self owned businesses. 

“We will appreciate support and co-operation of the bee keepers and Exporters Association in our efforts to promote economic activities and generate employment opportunities for youth of Fata and are ready to take more concrete steps in line with their suggestions,” the Governor said. 

The Governor took keen interest in the suggestion to authenticate quality of bee products and assured the delegates to contact the respective authorities to materialise it within shortest possible time. Referring to another demand, the Governor also assured to significantly contribute towards preservation of forests and growing relevant trees and bushes which are suitable to promote bee keeping both in the province and in Fata.
