EU lifting ban on seafood products hailed

European Union (EU) has lifted curbs from the import of Pakistani seafood after six-year, which is a major development regarding increasing exports of the country. It would have positive effects on Pakistan’s exports and would help in strengthening Pakistan’s economy, said Muhammad Khan Saddozai President of Multan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI).

He said “It is a big development in the context of Pakistan’s economy and global trade.” He further said that European Union should provide duty free access to Pakistan’s textile products according to its commitment. He said that the EU has lifted the ban on import of Pakistan’s seafood products, which it had imposed in 2007 for failing to meet its specifications.
