DC Peshawar’s directives to stabilise poultry prices

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Peshawar, Syed Zaheer-ul-Islam has taken strict notice of artificial increase in the price of chicken and directed immediate measures for bringing stability in the rates. According to the details, DC Peshawar on Monday took strict notice of unprecedented increase in the price of poultry and directed Assistant Commissioner (AC) Asad Haroon for taking immediate steps for bringing stability in the prices. 

On receiving the directives, AC Asad Haroon summoned Ration Controller and sought explanation from him. Explaining the position, Ration Controller told AC that President of the Poultry Association Niaz Gul issued an artificial price list under which rate of chicken is being increased on daily basis. 

After the explanation of Ration Controller, AC Asad Haroon along with heavy contingent of police force arrested the President Poultry Association issuing his arrest warrant under 3 MPO. However, other office bearers of Poultry Association at DC Office where after formal negotiations the association agreed on bringing the chicken price below Rs 175 per kilogram and also announced co-operation with administration in this regard.
