Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Mujahid Sherdil has said that flood threat is over in certain rivers of the province and now all the rivers are flowing normally. He said that the persons affected due to breach in River Ravi at Ferozwala were in the “katcha” area of the river but no loss of life and property occurred there and the local administration provided every kind of relief to the people.
He dispelled the impression that no one was present there for their help and assistance. He said that some persons deliberately made breach in a canal in Khanpur, which was immediately filled by the local administration and no loss occurred due to it. He said that inspection of all the banks and spurs of the rivers of the province is continuing regularly.
