Punjab Agriculture Department (PAD) issuing an advisory to the wheat growers on Wednesday called for applying 3rd watering to wheat crop after 125 to 130 days of sowing. It said at this phase grain is being developed and if the crop is not watered then grain reduces in size and production also lowers.
According to a spokesman of the department, experts of the department have also advised the growers to do pest scouting on regular basis and also eradicate weeds from the field and water courses as these help increasing the population of pests.
