Kisan Raaj Movement of KBP is going to stage a sit-in on Sunday (today) in Gujranwala to press the government for increasing the paddy prices. KBP Secretary Information Haji Muhammad Ramzan said that if their demands will not be accepted then they would hold a long march towards Islamabad on October 05.
Kisan Raaj Movement Chairman Arsalan Khan Khakwani in his telephonic address to growers claimed that paddy prices had crashed this year soon after arrival of new crop in the markets. He said it had created a crisis like situation while paddy was awaiting buyers in fields and market. He demanded that the non-basmati paddy price should be fixed at Rs 1200 per maund and super basmati paddy at Rs 2500 per maund.
