Managing Director (MD) Sindh Irrigation Development Authority (SIDA), Babar Affandi said that there is no threat of flood because the quantity of water was very low as compared to earlier flood in 2010. He was speaking on the occasion his visit to Galyan Bund at Indus River on Thursday.
Besides, all arrangements have been made to cope with untoward situation where the bunds from Galyan to Latifabad have been strengthened, he said. All efforts are being taken to vacate the areas encroached by local people, he said, the people have constructed big houses within areas of Indus River. We have approached the anti-encroachment cell for vacating the encroached areas, he said.
