Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Irrigation, Mahmood Khan has said that the provincial government under its three-year Insaf Food Security Program will provide free quality seed to wheat growers in the province. He was addressing a function held in connections with distribution of free seed under the auspices of Agriculture Department in Tehsil Matta, Swat.
The provincial minister said that under the Rs 4 billion Insaf Food Security Program, free seed worth Rs 15 million will be distributed in 6000 farmers of Tehsil Matta and asked the growers to take benefit of the incentives announced by the provincial government and increased their production to make the province self-sufficient in food items.
He further said that from next year beside the provision of wheat seed, free chemical fertiliser will also be distributed among the growers.
