On Wednesday, at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX), value traded was PKR 5,918 million as compared to PKR 4,020 million reported on Tuesday, an increase of 47 percent. The number of lots traded also increased by 23 percent to 29.84 million from 24.18 million. PMEX Commodity Index increased by 1.14 percent and closed at 2,506. Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 4,748 million, a 37 percent increase when compared to the previous trading day. This was followed by crude oil (PKR 1,047 million), silver (PKR 120.84 million) and cotton (PKR 2.62 million).
